As an academic, Dr. Hellström’s research coalesces under the broad umbrella of Packaging Logistics. His research can be categorised into two main interconnected research streams: one relating to reverse logistics/closed-loop supply chains, and the other to environmentally responsible packaging design/supply chain practices. Much of his work has been conducted in close cooperation with companies and in an international environment. Currently, he is involved in research projects concerning sustainable e-commerce.
